An image is only complete once it exists as a print.
Cruentis is my independent fine art photography project, founded in 2025. I photograph portraits, hyperrealistic figures and the steelworks of the Ruhr, in darker tones and with a lot of texture, on a 100 megapixel medium format system and on film. Grain is part of the picture, not an effect, and it shows most in large prints.
Every work is released as a numbered limited edition print and made for a wall, preferably a big one. Cruentis is not a studio and not a service. There are no commissions and no photoshoots, only the prints.

Prices only move one way
Every work is released in a small edition and sold in three phases. Phase one opens at the lowest price that print will ever carry. When those prints are gone, phase two opens higher. Then phase three, higher again.
The price never moves back down. No sales, no seasonal discounts, no clearing out of old editions. If you buy in phase one, nobody who buys that work later will have paid less than you did.
Later phases are priced for what is left rather than for what was available at the start.
Edition sizes differ from work to work, depending on the image, the print size and the series. Every work states its own edition size and its current phase on its page. All of them are small.

The last prints of the edition. When they are gone, the edition closes.
The Cruentis price policy. An edition is never discounted, never put on sale and never reissued at a lower price. That is a commitment about how Cruentis prices its own work. It is not a claim about what the work will be worth later.
An edition can also close before it sells out. A work may be withdrawn because it no longer belongs in the series, or because the studio stops printing it. So a work that has left the shop is not necessarily sold out. Withdrawn works can return, and if one does it returns at the phase it had reached or higher.
What happens when a phase sells out?
The next phase opens automatically at its own price. Nothing is held back or released early.
Can a price ever go down?
No. Prices move in one direction only. Cruentis does not run sales or discount codes on editions, and does not reissue a closed edition at a lower price.
How many prints exist of a work?
It varies. Edition size depends on the image, the print size and the series, and is fixed before the work goes on sale. The number is stated on each work's page and on its certificate.
A work has gone from the shop. Is it sold out?
Not necessarily. An edition can also be closed early and withdrawn. If it later returns, it returns at the phase it had reached or higher, never lower.

The work is organised in small collections, each with its own subject and its own edition sizes. All of it is black and white. It began with Industry I, photographed at Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord and shown below. 35AF I followed with cranes and haze. Portraits and hyperrealistic figures continue the same approach: darker tones, visible texture, made for large prints.
Every print is numbered and comes with a certificate. Edition sizes are stated on each work. A closed edition is not reprinted.

Cruentis is the independent fine art photography project of Miguel Subtirelu, founded in 2025 and based in the Ruhr region of Germany. All work is black and white and released as numbered limited edition photography prints with a signed certificate. Edition sizes vary by image and are stated on each work. Closed editions are not reprinted.
The collections include Industry I, photographed at Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord, 35AF I with cranes and haze in the industrial Ruhr, and ongoing series of black and white portraits and hyperrealistic figures. The photographs are made on a 100 megapixel medium format digital system and on analog film, with grain and texture as part of the picture, and are intended for large format prints.
Prints are produced on Hahnemühle Baryta fine art papers, FineArt Baryta 325 gsm or Photo Rag Baryta 315 gsm, with the paper chosen per image. Works are shipped from Germany to collectors, interior designers and offices in the EU and worldwide.
